Brandeis on Corporations and Voting

09Mar12

Here is a Brandeis quote for the day:

Many people have given much thought to the dangers to the community which attend the formation of great corporations controlling public monopolies. The greatest danger involved is the exercise by such corporations of undue political influence. The community may well be deemed to be in peril when such influence is exerted by men whose social position and private efforts secure for them general respect. There can be no safety for the people unless they serve notice upon the corporations that they must “keep out of politics.”
